Sanctuary Project
An
extensive sanctuary refurbishment project was approved by the
congregation at the November meeting. Work will start in the first
week of January 2007 and is planned to be completed near the end of
February 2007, hopefully for Ash-Wednesday. While work is being done
in the sanctuary church services will be held in the Fellowship
Hall.
1. The
twenty-eight pews will be disassembled in the Sanctuary, removed and
transported to a church furniture manufacturer in Clinton, NC, who
will completely refinish them. The pews will then be sanded,
repaired as needed, stained and coated with a lacquer finish. Seat
cushions and kneeler covers will also be replaced. New 2” foam
cushions, as well as new kneelers and new kneeler hardware will be
used.

3. The
walls in the sanctuary and its adjacent rooms, as well as the wood
trim on the lower walls and door frames will receive new coats of
paint.
4. The
ceiling in the cove above the alter will have the acoustic tile
removed and will be plastered and painted to match the rest of the
sanctuary.
5.
While the pews are out being refinished, the carpet will be removed
and the floor area beneath the pews will be sanded and refinished.

in the sanctuary (aisle and front), the narthex and adjacent rooms,
