Board For Online Community Discussion Groups
There
are two kinds of discussion groups, Yahoo! Groups
and Public Topics Bulletin Boards
1) Yahoo! Groups (formerly egroups):
Welcome
folks! Yahoo! Groups is a free service which allows us to communicate
with one another via e-mail. Yahoo! Groups will enable us to share
and exchange ideas, thoughts, or comments about our daily lives
as Christians through e-mail in an open forum. i.e. There may be
an immediate prayer request, someone may want to share a thought
for the day, a recipe, or just a funny story. Yahoo! Groups is an
opportunity for all members of HTLC to have fellowship with one
another everyday!
I only know
how to use e-mail, will I be able to participate?
YES!!! Yahoo! Groups is as easy as 1-2-3 to use. If you can send
e-mail you are more than ready to become a participant in this exciting
new medium.
How do I
get started?
Getting started is easy.
1) Send a blank
(no subject or message) e-mail to: htlc-anderson-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
2) You will
be sent an e-mail asking you to confirm your request to be added
to the list.
3) Click [reply]
and [send] this e-mail. This will send an e-mail to the moderator,
who will add your name to the group.
So how does
it all work?
After the moderator adds your name to the list, you will be
able to send e-mail to the rest of the group. Simply fill your e-mail
out the way you normally do and address it to
htlc-anderson@yahoogroups.com and press [send]. It is that simple!
The growth
of Yahoo! Groups and HTLC.
Soon many more
Yahoo! Groups will be available for individual groups within the
congregation. Some examples of these are Adult Bible Classes, Confirmation
Classes, Sunday School, special committees, or any other group that
would like an easy way to communicate with one another. If you are
interested in having a Yahoo! Group set up please contact

2) Public Topics Bulletin Boards:
The
bulletin board is for members and non members of Holy Trinity Lutheran
Church. It has been created so that we may share and exchange ideas,
thoughts, or comments about our daily lives as Christians through
an open public forum. i.e. There may be an immediate prayer request,
someone may want to share a thought for the day, a reflection on
a sermon, a recipe, or just a funny story.
