Worship Opportunities
Choirs:
Carol (Ages 4 -Grade 1) & Luther (Grades 2-5) & The Holy
Trinity Singers (Grades 6-12) meet on Sundays during the last 20
minutes of the Sunday School hour from September through May;The Chancel Choir (Adults) meet on Wednesday
evenings, except from mid-June through August.
Lutheran
Church Youth: (Grades
6-12) meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 4:30 to 6:00PM. The Lutheran Church
Youth is very active in service projects, not only for our church,
but also for the local extended community. They were able to man
the "Souper Bowl Sunday" and raise money for World Hunger
with their Starve-a-thon. In past years, they have made lunches
for the Soup Kitchen and erected and decorated the Christmas trees.
Women
of the ELCA (WELCA): Five groups meet each month - one on
the 1st Thursday morning; two on the first Monday (afternoon &
evening); one on the 2nd Tuesday evening ; and one on the 3rd Thursday
evening.
Lutheran
Church Men: meets as announced. Speakers for the meetings
have included such topics as Anderson County Recycling, 2000 South
Carolina Synod Meeting, Stephen Ministry, and a Theological Magic
Show by Dr. H. Frederick Reisz, Jr, President of Lutheran Theological
Southern Seminary. Donations were made to the South Carolina Lutheran
Men Mission/Loan Fund and to the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary.
Never-Too-Late
Group: This is an interdenominational Senior member group (Age
55 and older). This group meets monthly, except July and August,
for a covered dish luncheon and program which is both entertaining
and informative.Some meetings are sightseeing trips of interest
using the church van. The group is self-sustaining and requires
no church funds. The average attendance is between 30 and 40 members.
The group makes annual contributions to the church and other community
charitable organizations. They always welcome new members to join
them and experience good food and fellowship.
Two-Year
Cathechetical Course: (Grades 7-8).
First
Communion Seminar: (For children in First Grade and older).
Adult
Membership Classes: Provided periodically for those with non-Lutherans
backgrounds who may be interested in membership at Holy Trinity.
Vacation
Church School: One week during the summer, as announced.
Family
and Congregational Fellowship: These events are scheduled and
held throughout the year.
Special
Bible Studies: Annual congragational study offered in October;
other short term studies offered periodically.
Evening
Worship Opportunities: Offered on Wednesday evenings during
the seasons of Advent and Lent; on the evening before Thanksgiving
Day; and on some of the other Festival Days of the Church Year.
